Come Out to Play (Sacre, Page, Birch – 3.35) Please find my phone, I’ve got something new to say Bowie and Braque just came over here to play Please find my phone, I’ve got something new to say Bowie and Braque just came over here to play We made muddle, not music Sins against reality, sins against reality Objects, fragments, aleatory Seems to me like we all got a debt to pay For that day when Bowie and Braque came out to play Seems to me like we all got a debt to pay For that day when Bowie and Braque came out to play They set us free with brushes, pop and poetry…

The Marabout 02:49
The Marabout (Birch – 2.49) A Super-8, digitised and greeny-blue, still shows the disdain of a child Who’s had enough of endless sands and flaring sun And the Atlantic Ocean’s bulkheads We lay down, we jumped up! We lost some coins, and found a cup We seemed to sing, silently Then walk right off the reels for tea A little burnt, a little blown She was so fair, we should have known I recall a terrace near The Marabout A new century found us climbing Thuja trees The perfect place for dodging bullets Fired from the ranks of respectable society I’d still take the surly wasps and ragwort
3.
English Weather (Sacre, Page, Birch – 2.39) Had a green jacket in my prowling days Now I’m content to while away rainy hours in my front room Watching Withnail in the gloom The flowers won’t be complaining Now that it is raining Gutter rainbows, lolly stick jokes Hipsters searching blue plastic coats, for smokes I feel myself unravelling I’m at the end of my tether Just wandering through the park Soaked to the skin in english weather
4.
Factory 03:09
Factory (Birch – 3.09) Lucky’s gone evangelist Ilya wonders if he’ll ever kiss The girl with pink braids on line three And this Charlie Chaplin can’t keep up With the sailors on the mezzanine! No machines of loving grace are these Banter is the only engine grease “No, I don’t follow a team…” Its really not as bad as it seems If you don’t watch the clock A watched clock is stuck, until we get Out of the factory , into the night The city far below is a sea of lights I can see as far as the Isle of Wight It’s alright, it’s alright
5.
Skymen 03:36
Skymen (Sacre, Birch – 3.36) Dark was the night, cold was the ground Skymen rave, and they love Misbehave, oh what they would give For the flowers they misplaced For the flowers they almost gave To the one, to the one You’re so cold you could freeze the seas You’ve got me begging please don’t go As though the Skymen really did exist As though dead flowers could re-grow And grow, don’t go When you’re gone I despise the peace Hate the facts I’ve come to know Space the skymen could not resist Where black flower seeds are blown And sown, and grown Black hole blues old star disease Dead flowers bloom when lovers go In mind’s dark space doubt persists The Skymen tend them and they grow And grow, don’t go!

about

IBEX Lewes, UK

Lewesian Ibex have famous and exotic relatives: the Nubian Ibex of Sudan; the Ethiopian Ibex, and the Alpine Ibex, once considered to be a magical beast.

Whilst lacking the impressive horns of their cousins, this quintet are frequently spotted climbing twittens or grazing in The Lewes Arms. On rare occasions, they have been observed scaling the vertiginous Cliffe to take a salty mineral fix.
